Yoga therapy can be relaxing or energizing, but it is a carefully constructed experience by your therapist to target specific symptoms or issues. Because it is entirely individualized, you don't need any prior experience with yoga, and it is designed to suit your comfort level. |
Common effects of practicing yoga include: better sleep, increased concentration, calmness, connectedness to your body and spirit, increased awareness of self, and increased capacity to handle stress and anxiety.
Yoga is known to reduce anxiety and have a grounding effect, but did you know that it can 'reverse' DNA reactions which cause ill-health and depression (Buric, et al., 2017)? It can also increase brain size in certain areas (Froeliger, 2012), aids in neuroplasticity (Villemure, 2015), and even increases your tolerance for stress, illness, and certain diseases (Harvard, 2018). |
